The Oldest Club at Whitworth
As described in the 1927 yearbook, the “W” Club at Whitworth College was the first club established at the college. Named for the school’s founder George Whitworth, the club was reserved for male athletes that had earned letters in sports. The club was often mentioned in the college’s yearbooks and newspapers as the school’s oldest and most renowned organization on campus.
