| In the present day, there are opportunities galore for Whitworth musicians: symphonies, bands, private lessons, small groups, chamber orchestras, and more. Students want to be involved; many play more than one instrument seriously, and are looking to major in performance. Others just play as a hobby, but regardless, there is a large time commitment involved. This much is certain; without the early guidance of many amazing conductors, the orchestra as we know it would not exist.
