History of Mac Hall
Designed by Wes Stumbaugh, Class of 2003
History of Mac Hall
Built in 1914, McMillan Hall was the original building of Whitworth College here in Spokane. It was during the year 1914 that Whitworth moved over from Sumner, WA to establish a Presbyterian College in Spokane. Mac Hall was formerly known as the Ladies Dormitory until 1924, when it was then changed to the current name it now carries, McMillan Hall. This is a drawing of what the architect H.C. Whitehouse envisioned the Dormitory of Whitworth College to look like.
