The Early Days
The Village was initially used as housing for visitors to the 1974 World's Fair held in Spokane. Keola means "life" in Hawaiian, Shalom is Hebrew for "peace," and Tiki in Chinook means "love." Akili is Swahili for "intelligence," Charis is “grace” in Greek, and Hobjob is Cantonese for “cooperation.”
