Government information is a good source for statistics, primary resources, laws, historic records, country descriptions, technical reports, and information on controversial policy issues. Government publications are sources that are published by government bodies, at the national, state, regional, county, city or international level, instead of private publishers. Most publications are in book or pamphlet form, others are published as maps, videos, periodicals, and posters. Government publications come in a variety of formats including paper, CD-ROMs, microfiche, and materials located on the World Wide Web. PeriodicalsAcademic Universe is an index that allows searching of federal and state legislative law and case law full text. Find it in the Whitworth College Library Databases and Periodicals list of indexes. Government Document Depository LibrariesThe United States government and the State of Washington both have depository programs whereby the publications they produce are distributed and collected for use by the public. Whitworth University Library is not a depository for federal or state government documents.
