What is WINborrow?
WINborrow is a cooperative service that allows individuals to borrow books directly from another WIN partner library. Whitworth students, faculty and staff can request books from these libraries and have them delivered quickly to any library in the WIN system.
In addition, Whitworth students, faculty and staff can walk into a participating library and check out materials using a their current Whitworth ID. Materials can be returned to any library in the WIN system.

How do I request a book from a WIN library?
A WIN request can be entered from the Whitworth Library Catalog: http://whitworth.wash-id.net/
From the Library catalog, click on the "WINBorrow" button.
Select the library (catalog(s)) that you wish to search, click CONNECT.
Enter the keywords for the book you wish to locate and click on SEARCH.
Click on the title you want to view the complete record.
Click on the PLACE HOLD button.

Enter your Whitworth ID number and last name and click on the LOGIN button.
On the next screen "Please Choose the Type of Request" the box should indicate WIN REQUEST. Click OK.
Complete the information on the request form that follows including re-entering your Whitworth barcode number, and click SUBMIT REQUEST.
"Your patron initiated request was successful" message will appear if the request is successfully completed.
VERY IMPORTANT: remember to logout when you are finished.
You will receive an email when the item is available to pick up at the Whitworth Circulation Desk.
How do I check on my WIN
requests, overdue books or fines?
Your personal record (patron information) shows the titles of all the books you currently have checked out and when they are due. It includes the status of books you requested from a WIN library. It will indicate if a book that you requested is waiting for you to pick up. Your record also shows any overdue fines and fees you may have incurred.
From the Whitworth Library Catalog: http://whitworth.wash-id.net/ click on MY ACCOUNT.

Enter your Whitworth ID number and your last name in the boxes.
Click the LOGIN button.
View your account information.
VERY IMPORTANT: remember to logout when you are finished.
What are the fines and fees?
Books check out for 28 days with the possibility of one renewal.
No fines are charged for overdue WIN books. Overdue books will block you from further requests. Return or renew all items by their due dates Items not returned after 15 days are considered lost and you will be charged a replacement fee and a processing fee.
The processing fee of $10.00 is non-refundable and added to each lost item.
Can WIN books be renewed?
Currently enrolled students, faculty and staff can request to renew WIN items one time.
From the Whitworth Library Catalog: http://whitworth.wash-id.net/ click on MY ACCOUNT.

Enter your Whitworth ID number and your last name in the boxes.
Click the LOGIN button.
Click on the renewal box of each item you want to renew.
Click the RENEW ITEMS button at the bottom of the list.
Check each title to make sure the item has been renewed and to find out your new due date. If the display reads "Not Renewed," the due date on the item has NOT been extended and the item should be returned to the Circulation Desk.
VERY IMPORTANT: remember to logout when you are finished.
