Whitworth College Career Week to Feature Career Fair, Formal Dinner, Workshops and Résumé Contest
Whitworth students can polish their résumés and hone their interviewing techniques, network with more than 70 employers at a career fair, and learn the finer points of business and dining etiquette at a formal dinner during the college's annual Career Week, Feb. 25-29.
The college will host a Career Connections Dinner for Whitworth students on Wednesday, Feb. 27, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the HUB catering rooms. This event will include a reception and a formal dinner with Spokane-area business and community leaders, as well as presentations on business and dining etiquette, networking, and strategies for the next day's Career Fair 2002. Representatives from Nordstrom will also present a business-wardrobe fashion show. The cost for the Career Connections Dinner is $5 with a Whitworth student I.D. Seating is limited; please sign up for the dinner before Feb. 27 at the Career Services Office, located on the second floor of the HUB.
The 10th Annual Partnership in Employment Career Fair 2002 will take place on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 3-7 p.m. at the WestCoast Grand Hotel, located at 303 W. North River Drive, in Spokane. Presented by Whitworth, Gonzaga University, Eastern Washington University and Washington State University, the career fair is the largest in the Inland Northwest and will feature more than 70 employers who will speak with students about full-time regional and national employment opportunities. A free shuttle service to the career fair will be available at the HUB beginning at 3 p.m. For more information or for a listing of employers who are participating in the fair, please contact the Career Services Office at 777-3272.
The Career Services Office will also conduct half-hour workshops on résumé writing, interviewing techniques, networking at the Career Fair 2002, and using the Internet to search for jobs. Following is a workshop schedule:

Whitworth students can also take part in the 8th annual résumé contest, sponsored by the Career Services Office. Prizes for the best résumés include two $50 gift certificates from the Whitworth Bookstore. To enter, bring your résumé to the Career Services Office between Feb. 18 and March 1; winners will be announced by Friday, March 8.
