Whitworth String Ensemble and Student String Quartet to Perform in Concert

The Whitworth String Ensemble and Student String Quartet will perform in a concert on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the Music Building Recital Hall at Whitworth College. Admission is free. For more information, please call (509) 777-3280.

During the concert the ensemble and quartet will perform pieces by J.S. Bach, Ernest Bloch, Felix Mendelssohn, and Ralph Vaughan Williams, including Williams' Fantasia on Greensleeves.

The Whitworth String Ensemble and Student String Quartet are conducted by Roberta Bottelli, Whitworth adjunct professor of music and substitute cellist for the Spokane Symphony.

"It's a wonderful program with a lot of variety, from Bach to Bloch," Bottelli says of the concert. "Our growing string program values the support of the Spokane community. These students are creating beautiful music and are raising the standard of string playing at Whitworth."
