Whitworth Senior Art Majors to Display Artwork in "4.5 seconds or less" Exhibit
Behaviorists say that the average attention span of humans today is about 4.5 seconds, but Whitworth senior art majors hope to capture visitors' attention for much longer than that when they view this year's senior art exhibit, "4.5 seconds or less." The exhibit will be on display April 22-May 17 in the Hixson Union Building (HUB) and the Koehler Gallery at Whitworth College.
HUB hours are Monday-Thursday, 6:45 a.m.-11 p.m.; Friday, 6:45 a.m.-10 p.m.; and Saturday-Sunday, 7:45 a.m.-11 p.m. Koehler Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. Admission is free. An artists' reception will be held on Tuesday, April 22, from 5-7 p.m. in the Koehler Gallery and the Hixson Union Building. For more information, please call (509) 777-3258.
The exhibit will feature students' work in mixed media, printmaking, painting, digital images, ceramics and a short film. The show offers Whitworth's senior art majors the opportunity to display the results of skills they have honed during four years of art instruction and receive valuable feedback from the community.
