Whitworth Art Students to Display Work in Exhibit, "Bouffant"
The 19 artists planning and participating in the all-student-produced Whitworth junior art exhibit, "Bouffant," titled their upcoming exhibit in honor of the extravagant, over-the-top hairstyle that was popular during the 1960s.
"We chose the title 'Bouffant' because this is our first exhibition, and a lot of our work is still very rough; we might look back on it in several years and laugh, just as those who sported bouffant hairdos in the 1960s probably laugh about them today," senior Adalie Hulbert says.
"Bouffant" will run Dec. 2-12 in the Koehler Gallery, located in the Fine Arts Building, and in the Hixson Union Building's Multipurpose Room at Whitworth College. Koehler Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m., Monday-Friday. The HUB is open until 10 p.m. Mon.-Fri. and until 11 p.m. Sat. and Sun. Admission is free. An opening reception will take place Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 5-7 p.m. in the Koehler Gallery. For more information, please call (509) 777-3258.
