Whitworth Senior Art Majors to Display Works in "Pretty on the Inside" Exhibit
Parents are prone to telling their children that "it's what's on the inside that counts," a common phrase that has inspired this year's Whitworth senior art exhibit, "Pretty on the Inside." The exhibit will be on display April 21-May 16 in the Hixson Union Building (HUB) Multipurpose Room, and a collaborative installation piece based on the exhibit's theme will be on display in the Koehler Gallery at Whitworth College.
HUB hours are Monday-Thursday, 6:45 a.m.-11 p.m.; Friday, 6:45 a.m.-10 p.m.; and Saturday-Sunday, 7:45 a.m.-11 p.m. Koehler Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. Admission is free. An artists' reception will be held on Wednesday, April 21, from 5-7 p.m. in the Koehler Gallery and the HUB. For more information, please call (509) 777-3258.
The 15 seniors' work includes mixed media, printmaking, painting, digital images, ceramics and a short film. The show offers Whitworth's senior art majors the opportunity to display the results of skills they have honed during four years of art instruction and receive valuable feedback from the community.
