Whitworth Theatre to Stage "Godspell"

Whitworth Theatre will present its spring production, "Godspell," April 8, 9, 15 and 16 at 8 p.m. and April 10 at 2 p.m. in Cowles Memorial Auditorium at Whitworth College. Admission is $5. For tickets or more information, please call (509) 777-3707. Tickets can also be purchased at the door prior to each performance.

"Godspell," a musical conceived and written by John Michael Tebelak with lyrics and music by Stephen Schwartz, follows the story of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew and features some of the best-loved songs from modern musicals, including Day By Day and All For the Best. The show originally opened at the Cherry Lane Theatre on May 17, 1971, and opened on Broadway in 1976. The Whitworth production of "Godspell" is directed by Associate Professor of Theatre Diana Trotter.
