Whitworth Students to Present Annual Literary-Journal Reading May 11Whitworth College student-authors will read their poems, nonfiction essays, drama and fiction pieces during the 18th annual reading of Script, the college's literary journal. The reading will take place on Friday, May 11, at 4 p.m. in the Westminster Courtyard at Whitworth. Refreshments will be served after the reading. Admission is free. "Script is a forum for Whitworth students to share and celebrate their work," says Managing Editor Leah Silvieus, '07. "This year's edition showcases a variety of pieces by students from diverse majors, classes and life experiences."
For 20 years, Script has been a staple of the Whitworth College community as its only student-produced literary journal. Managed by a student editorial board, Script is a unique creative voice on campus that features work by Whitworth students from a variety of majors and class standings. Contributors to this year's edition represent disciplines including music, theatre, biology, political studies, art and journalism.
Located in Spokane, Wash., Whitworth is a private, liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). The college enrolls 2,500 students in more than 50 undergraduate and graduate programs.
