Paul-Gordon Chandler to Present "Salaam on Islam" Sept. 6 Lecture at Whitworth

Paul-Gordon Chandler, an Episcopal priest working in the Middle East, will present a lecture, "Salaam on Islam: Waging Peace on Muslims in the Spirit of Christ," on Thursday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m., in the Robinson Teaching Theatre, Weyerhaeuser Hall, at Whitworth University. Chandler grew up in Muslim West Africa, and has lived and worked extensively throughout the Islamic world with churches, religious publishing and Christian relief and development agencies. His newest book is Pilgrims of Christ on the Muslim Road: Exploring a New Path Between Two Faiths. Chandler's lecture is sponsored by Speakers& Artists at Whitworth University and the Lilly Foundation.

Located in Spokane, Wash., Whitworth is a private, liberal arts university affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). The university, which has an enrollment of 2,500 students, offers 53 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
