Deans' Seminar Series Feb. 28 to Feature Spokane Mayor
in Panel Discussion on City's Sustainability Plan

Whitworth University Dean Michael Le Roy and Eastern Washington University Dean Rex Fuller present the latest in the 2007-08 Deans' Seminar Series, "Sustaining Our Community: Spokane Initiatives," featuring a panel discussion with Spokane Mayor Mary Verner and key members of her staff. The discussion will take place on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Robinson Teaching Theatre in Weyerhaeuser Hall at Whitworth University. Admission and parking are free. During the evening, Mayor Verner and her staff members will discuss the City of Spokane's efforts to develop a strategic-action plan that will move Spokane to the forefront of innovation in addressing sustainability and economic development. The planning effort will build on the Spokane City Council's resolution supporting the mayor's Near Nature-Quality of Life initiative and Gov. Christine Gregoire's executive order on climate change.          

The Deans' Seminar Series is presented through the collaboration of the School of Global Commerce & Management at Whitworth and the College of Business and Public Administration at EWU.

Located in Spokane, Wash., Whitworth is a private, liberal arts university affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). The university, which has an enrollment of 2,600 students, offers 53 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
