WHITWORTH UNIVERSITY INTRAMURALS What are Intramurals ? Intramural sports and games are some of the most popular programs on campus. Intramurals allows for students living in the residence halls or off campus to compete in the league sports and events including basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, and the Whitworth favorite: Ultimate Frisbee. Various tournaments are also put on throughout the year and include Dodgeball, Tennis, Capture the Flag, Ping Pong, and Grass Volleyball. And that's just in the Spring !!! So come on, get a team together now and put away the stresses of school and have tons of fun with intramurals. GET ACTIVE, PLAY INTRAMURALS ! I want to play, but I don't have a team ? If there's a sport, you can definitely find people that want to play. You can be the Captain ! Grab a sign-up form at the info desk and find teammates ! There are several outlets for getting a team together: talk to your roommate(s), hallmates, and RA. Asking around can also get you hooked up with a team that already exists. Who is the coordinator of Intramurals ? Dave Gerig is a junior majoring in Health/Fitness/PE. This is Dave's first year on ASWU and as intramural coordinator. He has previously been a basketball official and has been playing intramurals since freshman year. His previous athletic experience includes varsity basketball at a 5A school in Colorado. His love for sports was the reason he went for the intramural position as well as his ideas for improvement in the program. Dave enjoys interacting with students about intramurals as well as giving the students several different sports to participate in. He also likes being able to watch as many intramural activities as he can and is always looking for ways to improve intramurals. The best way to contact Dave is email at dgerig09@whitworth.edu but you can also call x4554 and Dave will do his best to get back to you as soon as he can.
