Nominee for Washington Award for Excellence in Teacher Preparation, Professional Educator Standards Board (Dec. 2007); honored by the Washington Association of Educators of the Talented and Gifted (WAETAG) for contributions to the field and years of excellent service (2004).

Facillitator for Gifted Program Assessment, Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) Annual Gifted Leadership Symposium; member of State Advisory Board for Gifted and Talented, OSPI; invited member of committee to write national standards for teaching the gifted and alignment with higher education goals.

Presentations include: keynote address, "Navigating the World of the Digital Native," at the Summer Edufest, in Boise (2008); "Developing Responsible Global Citizens," and "Teaching the Underachiever," at the Summer Edufest, Boise (2008); "Review of Middle School Gifted & Talented Program,"  Professional Development, Yakima, (2009); parent evening session, "Parenting Middle School Adolescents," Yakima (2008); breakout session, "Developing Productive and Responsible Global Citizens," and "Teaching the Underachiever," at the Winter Edufest, Coeur d' Alene (2009); keynote address, "Educating the Digital Native to  Navigate a Journey of Discovery," at the annual WAETAG conference (2008).

Published Teaching the Gifted Student in the Regular Classroom: A Program Option for Small Districts (1982) and Small District Programs for Gifted and Talented Students (1981). Honored as the top-ranked teaching assistant, MATESOL, University of Washington (1993-95).
