Dr. Bempong Nyantakyi is an assistant professor of Economics in the School of Business at Whitworth University. He is originally from Konongo in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Economics and Geography from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and completed his Ph.D. in Economics from West Virginia University. Dr. Bempong Nyantakyi’s teaching and research interests are in international trade and development, applied microeconomics, and econometrics. In particular, his research focuses on trade costs and trade partnerships across countries, and how technology gap affects the productivity of domestic firms in Sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. Bempong Nyantakyi joined the School of Business faculty in 2013.
