Publications include: "Emerging Paradigm: Leadership in Complex Adaptive Systems, in Leadership: The Key Concepts (2008); "Leadership for the Common Good," in Leadership and Service: An Introduction (2008); "Complexity Theory" in Leadership: The Key Concepts (2008); a chapter, "Leadership in Complex Adaptive Systems," in Key Themes in Leadership Studies(2007); an article, "Chaos Theory and Leadership Studies: Exploring Uncharted Seas," in the Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies (2002).

Presentations include: a paper, "Leadership for the Common Good" at the 2008 International Leadership Association annual conference; a paper, "Understanding and Teaching Complexity and Chaos Theories," at the 2002 International Leadership Association annual conference.

Author of Educating the Heart of a Citizen: Hope for a Democracy at Risk: Preparing Citizen Leaders for the 21st Century (1997); co-author of Mastering Study Skills: Making it in College (1988); author of "Defining Leadership: Can We See the Forest for the Trees?" in The Journal of Leadership Studies (1996); co-author of "Stress Factors and Occupational Roles of University Academic Department Chairs" in The Journal of Technology Studies (1995) and "Sources of Stress for Academic Department Chairpersons" in The Journal of Educational Administration (1994).

Presented a program on leadership and motivation to the Council of Multicultural Student Presidents Leadership Conference at Washington State University.
