Degree Information

  • Financial obligations to Whitworth must be met before you will receive your diploma.
  • Diplomas are typically mailed 4-5 weeks after your last class finishes.
  • A diploma will be mailed to the address you listed on the Diploma Address Request Form.
  • Diploma lists name, degree and applicable honors. Majors are listed only on the transcript.
  • Prospective employers can verify degrees at www.degreeverify.org
  • Diplomas are issued with your name as it appears on your application for graduation.
  • Latin honors are awarded as follows:
    3.90 and above: Summa Cum Laude (with highest honor)
    3.75 and above: Magna Cum Laude (with high honor)
    3.50 and above: Cum Laude (with honor)
  • Latin honors that appear in the commencement program are based upon credits completed prior to the spring semester. Final honors recognition will appear on transcripts and are based upon Whitworth University academic credits.
