Austen, Ardent Love, and Adaptation – tea and conversation with Brooke Kiener and Laura Bloxham
  • March 8, 2014

Join us for an afternoon event at which Whitworth alums Assistant Professor of Theatre Brooke Kiener and Professor of English Laura Bloxham will lead us in a conversation about courtship and marriage in Jane Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice. They will also help us explore the process of adapting 19th-century literature for a contemporary theatre audience.

Austen, Ardent Love, and Adaptation
Saturday, March 8
2-3:30 p.m.
Hardwick Alumni House – 118 W. Hawthorne Road

Your $7.50 event registration includes tea and light appetizers. Registration increases to $10 after March 5. Sorry, no refunds after that date.

Registered guests will receive $2 off any performance of Whitworth Theatre Department’s spring mainstage performance of Pride and Prejudice in Cowles Auditorium. A discount code will be provided to attendees after registration. Performances will take place on March 7, 8, 9, 14 and 15.

Whether you’re an Austen aficionado or a latecomer to the charms of her work, we hope you’ll join Brooke and Laura for this exclusive event; all are welcome.
