Last Friday the Bucs came back from a 37-17 deficit to pull within 47-44 at Puget Sound before the Loggers hung on to win 54-46 in Tacoma. Liz Horiatis (So., P, Woodinville, Wash.) led Whitworth with 11 points and eight rebounds, while Kim Bluff (Jr., G, Cusick, Wash.) added 11 points.

On Saturday PLU used a late 12-1 run to beat Whitworth 71-58 and end the Pirates' hopes at an NWC tournament berth. Cassie Pilkinton (Jr., F, Chelan, Wash.) led both teams in scoring with 25 points and five rebounds.

Tuesday night the Pirates struggled to a 42-22 halftime deficit at Whitman by making only 25% of their shots in the first period. The Missionaries went on to win 81-56 despite a game-high 22 points from Cassie Pilkinton.

The Seniors: Whitworth will honor the 2009 senior class prior to Sunday's game with Lewis & Clark.

Holly Tomlin (Kirkland, Wash.) played only this season for the Pirates after a strong career with the volleyball team.

Alida Bower (Onalaska, Wash.) has been a three-year performer at Whitworth after playing her freshman season at St. Martin's. Bower was named Second Team All-NWC in 2006-07 and First Team All-NWC last season. Her final year with the Pirates was delayed by a knee injury before the season and ended early by a separate knee injury in a game at Pacific on January 31st.

Likewise, Jamie Scott's (Tacoma, Wash.) career has been slowed by injuries. She missed all of the 2007-08 season with a shoulder injury but has been a regular on the court this year. She will graduate this spring and forgo her final season of eligibility next winter.

Tiffany Corigliano (Nine Mile Falls, Wash.) is a four-year player who became a full-time starter last season, when she posted career-high averages of 8.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. She has improved her rebounding average this season to a team-leading 7.0 per contest.
