Pilkinton (Jr., Chelan, Wash.) completed her first season as a Pirate after playing two years at North Idaho College. She led the Pirates in scoring average at 13.6 points per game and was second in assists (2.1 per game). In addition she was statistically the best three-point shooter in the conference. Pilkinton led the NWC in three-point percentage (43.5) and was second in three-pointers per game (1.88). Pilkinton posted Whitworth career highs of 25 points and five three-pointers made (in 10 shots) on February 14 at Pacific Lutheran. Bower's (Sr., Onalaska, Wash.) season was shortened by a season-ending knee injury suffered in the January 31 game at Pacific (Ore.). The transfer from St. Martin's University earned All-NWC honors each of her three seasons with the Pirates. She was a Second Team choice in 2007 and a First Team selection last year. Bower scored a career-high 34 points while making 7 of 12 three-point shots in a win at Lewis & Clark on January 23rd, earning NWC Student-Athlete of the Week honors. She averaged 9.1 points per game this season. Whitworth ended the season with a 13-12 overall, 7-9 NWC record to give the Pirates a 6th place finish.
