SPOKANE, Wash. -- Competing against a mixture of unattached runners, Whitworth alumnae and Gonzaga University junior varsity, the Pirate runners were still impressive while dominating the Whitworth Short Course Classic on Saturday morning.
Tonya Turner (Fr., Spokane, Wash.) led a 1-8 Whitworth sweep in the women's race, completing the 3,200 meter course in 12:07.00. Dana Misterek (Fr., Gig Harbor, Wash.) was second in 12:23.00. Dak Riek from Community Colleges of Spokane who was officially competing unattached, won in 10:05.00. The men also run the 3,200 meter race. Nick Gallagher (So., Bedford, Iowa) was third in 10:14.00.
