Allan Named to AP Little All-America Team
December 15, 2006

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Whitworth College tight end Michael Allan has been named to the 2006 Associated Press Little All-America Team, becoming the first Pirate player selected to the team since 2000.

Michael Allan

Allan (Sr., TE, Bellevue, Wash. - Interlake) caught 53 passes for 1,100 yards and nine touchdowns this season. He led the Northwest Conference in touchdown receptions and yards per catch (20.8), earning First Team All-NWC honors for the third straight year. He closes his career with school records for touchdown receptions (29) and yards per catch (18.7). Allan has already been named to the AFCA Division III All-America team for the second year in a row.

The AP Little All-America team is selected from all players below the NCAA Division I and I-AA levels (NCAA DII, NCAA DIII and NAIA). Allan is the only NCAA Division III player on the First Team Offense. Only three DIII players were on the entire first team.

The last Whitworth player named to the AP Little All-America Team was defensive end Sky Blake in 2000.

Allan helped lead Whitworth to its first-ever 10+ win season (11-1), first outright Northwest Conference title and first post season victory in school history in 2006.
