At the NWC Spring Classic near Portland, the Pirates were in third place after the opening round, but rallied to finish second. Whitworth came into the season-ending tournament tied with Linfield and Pacific for the conference lead, each with 14 points based on finishes in the NWC Fall Classic and NWC Spring Classic. Linfield had won the Fall Classic, Pacific the Spring Classic, with Whitworth second in both. The final conference standing and point totals finish like this: Linfield 30; Whitworth 28; Pacific 26; Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran 18 (tie); Willamette 12; George Fox 5; Lewis & Clark 4; and Whitman 3. Since reinstating golf as a varsity sports in 2003-04, Whitworth has never finished lower than second place in the final NWC standings, winning three straight titles from 2005 through 2007.
