PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Whitworth University women came back from an early deficit to win handily and the Pirate men rolled to an easy win as Whitworth swept a Northwest Conference swimming dual meet at Lewis & Clark College on Friday night.

L&C won three of the first five women's events and only trailed 47-46 at that point. But the Pirates won five of the last six races to take the dual 121-84. Samantha Kephart and Natalie Turner each won twice for Whitworth.

The Pirate men were never threatened in a 139-53 victory. Whitworth swept the top three spots in four of the races.

The Pirates will be back in action on Saturday afternoon at Willamette.
