SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Whitworth University swimming teams will resume their dual meet schedules this week, after nearly two months away from dual competition. The Pirates travel west to battle NCAA Division I (provisional) Seattle University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Whitworth has returned from a successful Christmas break training trip to Southern California. The teams logged miles of workouts while training in Thousand Oaks for nine days. At the conclusion of the trip, Whitworth competed in the California Lutheran Winter Invite (click for complete results). While fast times were not expected, several Pirates won events in competition against the hosts along with UC Santa Cruz and Cal State East Bay.

Last season Whitworth's women swept a pair of dual meet victories against Seattle University, while the Whitworth men competed well against the Redhawks. Whitworth hopes to be as competitve again this season.
