SPOKANE, Wash. - Whitworth rolled through a successful weekend trip to Oregon and stretched its Northwest Conference women's tennis winning streak to five matches in the process.

On Friday the Pirates defeated George Fox 9-0 without dropping a set in any of the matches. Whitworth went deep into its roster in the doubles matches. Katie Staudinger and Alli Marshall won 8-2 at #1 doubles, Stephanie Reardon and Erica Bosman won 8-3 at #2 doubles and Claire Hemming and Siri Carlson won 8-3 at #3 doubles. In singles play Rachel Burns rolled to a 6-2, 6-3 win at #1, while Mya Towne won 6-0, 6-0 at #2. Bosman also won her match love and love at #3 singles.

On Saturday Whitworth played a doubleheader at Pacific. The Pirates won the opener 9-0. Burns and Marshall won 9-7 at #1 doubles, while Staudinger and Justine Hays won 8-6 at #2 doubles. Towne and Bosman won easily at #3 doubles, 8-1. Burns went on to win 6-2, 6-2 at #1 singles, while Marshall pulled out a 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-3) win at #2 singles. Towne (#3), Bosman (#4), Staudinger (#5) and Hays (#6) all win their singles matches handily.

Whitworth won Saturday's nightcap 8-1 over Pacific. The Pirates used the same doubles teams and won by largers margins the second time around. Marshall moved up to #1 on the singles ladder and fell 2-6, 7-6 (4), 1-0 (15-13) in a hard-fought match. The rest of the ladder won in straight sets. Towne won at #2, Bosman at #3, Staudinger at #4, Hays at #5 and Janell Talbot at #6.

Staudinger went 6-0 over the weekend, winning three singles matches and three doubles sets.

Whitworth will return home to host PLU (Friday), UPS (Saturday) and Whitman (Sunday) in three key Northwest Conference matches.
