SPOKANE, Wash. - Whitworth used its depth throughout the line up to cruise to a 7-2 win over visiting Lewis & Clark in a Northwest Conference women's tennis match on Saturday. The Pirates got great contributions from a pair of players from Yakima. Senior Justine Hays won 7-6, 6-0 against Jill Coleman at #5 singles. Sophomore Katie Staudinger blanked Caitlyn Homer 6-0, 6-0 at #6 singles. Hays and Staudinger had paired to win 8-1 at #3 doubles over Coleman and Paige Earhart. The Pirates will hit the road to take on George Fox and Pacific next weekend. |
