SPOKANE, Wash. - Whitworth University is sending a pair of athletes to the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships this week in Ada, Ohio. Cody Stelzer (So., The Dalles, Ore. - The Dalles) will compete in the high jump and Emmanuel Bofa (So., Puyallup, Wash. - Emerald Ridge) will race in the 800 meters at the meet, which is being hosted by Ohio Northern University. Stelzer is making a return to the meet where he finished sixth last year in the same event, earning NCAA All-America honors. He heads into this season's meet seeded third with a best mark of 6'-10.75". Last season he went on to take third at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Bofa will be competing at the NCAA Indoor Championships for the first time, though he did take fourth place in the 800 at last year's NCAA outdoor meet. Bofa is seeded 12th in the 800 this season with a converted time of 1:53.52. "I expect both Cody and Emmanuel to do well, based on their experience at nationals last season," said Whitworth Head Coach Toby Schwarz. The preliminary heats of the men's 800 will be on Friday at 3:45 p.m. (PDT) and the final heat will be Saturday at 12:55 p.m. (PDT). The high jump will take place on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. (PDT).
