SPOKANE, Wash. - Whitworth won five events at the CC of Spokane Track and Field Mini Meet on Saturday, and Jeff Kintner improved his NCAA Division III Indoor qualifying mark in the shot put in Seattle. Kintner tossed the shot 52'-8.25 inches to move into seventh place on the NCAA Division III indoor top marks list, almost clinching a spot in the upcoming NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. Meanwhile, in Spokane, the Pirate women won two field events and one running event. Kayla Hughes took first in the high jump with a mark of 5'-1.75" and Amber Scott won the shot put with a distance of 35'-11.5". Dana Misterek ran to victory in the 800 with a time of 2:31.68. Dusty Caseria gave the Pirates an 800-meter sweep with a win in the men's event. His time was 1:54.94. Joey VanHoomissen was first in the discus with a toss of 142'-3" and he was second in the hammer throw (161'-10"). Kory Kemp was third in a strong javelin field with a distance of 178'-5". |
