Kaimi Rocha Named First Team All-NWC
Nikki Bardwell, Ka'ipo Rocha Honorable Mention

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Whitworth outside hitter Kaimi Rocha has been named to the 2008 All-Northwest Conference First Team, while Nikki Bardwell and Ka'ipo Rocha are honorable mention honorees.

Kaimi Rocha (Fr., OH, Pukalani, Hawaii) led the Pirates, and was ranked among the NWC leaders, in kills per set in 2008 with an average of 2.99. She hit .188 this season and averaged 2.71 digs per game. She was named MVP of the season-opening NYU Labor Day Invitational and was also selected to the Whitworth Invitational all-tournament team. She earned NWC Student-Athlete of the Week honors twice this season.

Bardwell (Sr., OH, Colville, Wash.) finished second on the team in kills per set (2.34), aces per set (0.29) and digs per set (3.24) while serving as one of the Pirate team captains in 2008.

Ka'ipo Rocha (Fr., MB, Pukalani, Hawaii) came back from an early-season injury to lead the team in hitting percentage (.220) and finish second on the team in blocks per game (0.66).

The trio helped Whitworth finish 14-14 overall and 7-9 in the NWC this season.
