Shuttle Service

Shuttle service can be arranged at no cost for students traveling without guests to and from campus. If you are interested in using the shuttle service, please indicate that when you complete the registration form for a campus visit event.

Where can the shuttle pick me up from?

The shuttles can take you to and from the Spokane International Airport, train station and bus station. 

Who qualifies for shuttle service?

Shuttle transportation service is only for prospective students traveling unaccompanied by a parent/guardian.

How soon before an event do I need to request a shuttle? 

Transportation requests must be received at least one week prior to the event date to ensure the availability of our shuttle drivers.

How much does it cost to request a shuttle?

Transportation is free of cost to you. 

Do I need to know my travel information before I request a shuttle?

Yes. You will be asked for your travel information when registering for a campus visit event. 

Whose contact information do I put?

Please put the traveler's contact information in the form so that we may contact them the day of. This information will be shared with our shuttle drivers in order for them to contact you upon arrival.

What do I do if my flight/train/bus is delayed?

Your confirmation email will provide you with the contact information of one of our admissions staff members. Please contact them if your travel plans change or if you are delayed.

Will I be the only one on the Whitworth shuttle? 

Since we have many students visiting Whitworth, there is a chance you will share your shuttle with other prospective students.

Who drives the shuttles?

The Associated Students of Whitworth University Shuttle Service provides transportation by current Whitworth students. These students have been trained specifically for this role. 

Arrival/Departure Information

Arrivals: Spokane airport 

  1. If applicable, retrieve your luggage from the baggage claim. 
  2. Proceed to the Southwest ticket counter, where you will meet your shuttle driver at the pick-up time indicated in your confirmation email. The Southwest ticket counter is centrally located in the airport, between the two baggage claim areas. Please see the map attached to your confirmation email for assistance finding this location.  
  3. Look for your shuttle driver, who will be holding a Whitworth Shuttle sign.

Your shuttle driver will drop you off at the Hixson Union Building (HUB). In your free time, you are welcome to have a meal in the dining hall or check out the coffee shop.

Arrivals: Bus and train station 

  1. Retrieve your luggage bus side.
  2. Proceed to the Greyhound bus station parking lot, which is located in front of the station. You will walk down the set of stairs or take the escalators to the main floor. By departing through a set of double doors, you will arrive out front. Your driver will meet you there.  
  3. Look for your shuttle driver, who will be holding a Whitworth Shuttle sign.

Your shuttle driver will drop you off at the Hixson Union Building (HUB). In your free time, you are welcome to have a meal in the dining hall or check out the coffee shop.

Departures: 

You will find your return shuttle information located in your event packet when you arrive on campus. Your shuttle driver will meet you at the Hixson Union Building (HUB) at the confirmed shuttle time to transport you. Please verify with your driver your departure time and location.
