Tips for using MonsterTrak
In partnership with Whitworth's Career Services Office, MonsterTrak provides full-time, part-time, temporary and internship opportunities targeted by employers to Whitworth University students and alumni.
To look at the job listings once you reach MonsterTrak's home page
Select a "Catergory" and/or a "State."
Select "Sign Up Here" Scroll down the box of college listings, click on "Whitworth University." Then click on "Sign Up."
Once inside the job listings for Whitworth, the process is user-friendly.
Once you reach the Whitworth listings, you will be prompted to choose a search method for looking at the listings. "By type of work" is a good place to start if you are interested in a particular field. Once you have chosen a type, choose whether you want to look at "full-time" "full-time experienced" "part-time" "summer" or "internship" listings.
If you want to see all of the part-time or full-time jobs at once, regardless of type of job, choose "by geographic location" as your search method. Then pick a state to look at the jobs. Click on appropriate link and you will get a list of all the jobs from the newest to the oldest.
What's not on MonsterTrak?
Government or education jobs.
There are multiple job postings on the Whitworth job-posting database, Handshake.
To Apply for the Jobs
Be sure to research the company before you apply. Then unless otherwise specified, send a cover letter and résumé to the contact person shown on the job listing.
What's available for graduating students vs. alumni?
Entry-level jobs and jobs for people with experience in a particular field are mixed in together. If a listing specifies one or more year's experience in a particular career field, it is usually not available to a graduating senior.
How long are jobs posted?
Companies post jobs to JOBTRAK for four weeks (part-time jobs run two weeks).
