Health Response: Mumps

Nov. 8, 2016

The Spokane Regional Health District has informed Whitworth that we have reached the end of the initial incubation period for the mumps. Starting on Nov. 9, all employees and students can resume normal activities. Whitworth will remain on alert for any new potential cases and further information will be provided if additional cases are identified.

On behalf of President Beck A. Taylor, Cabinet members, and the Incident Command Team, we thank you for your cooperation in providing vaccination records and for taking steps to protect yourself and others from contracting mumps. We also appreciate the extra work faculty and staff undertook to accommodate those infected or at risk of infection.
