What: 2013 Spokane Intercollegiate Research Conference When: Saturday, April 27, 2013 Where: Whitworth University, 300 W. Hawthorne Road, Spokane, WA 99251 Who: Undergraduate and graduate students from the greater Spokane area and beyond are invited to present original, faculty-advised research in many disciplines. Why: The Spokane Intercollegiate Research Conference provides an excellent opportunity for students to present their research for peer review. The research may be original work conducted as part of regular classroom activities or performed outside of class under the direction of a faculty mentor. The standard for quality at SIRC is that the research be suitable for submission to a conference within a specific discipline as determined by a faculty sponsor. Students are welcome to submit abstracts for either oral or poster presentations. How: There are two options for conference submissions. The first option is for students to submit a title and abstract using the online application form. Upon acceptance, the program committee will try to group these general submissions into sessions by similar disciplines. The second option is for faculty to propose a special topics session, using the special session online proposal form, and invite student presenters. Students must then indicate on their application that they are participating in a special topics session. The faculty proposer(s) will be responsible for reviewing special topic submissions.
