As a sophomore, she was one of 15 college students from across the U.S. selected as a fellow to the United Negro College Fund Special Programs Corporation’s Institute for International Public Policy, which provides college students from under- represented minority groups with training to advance in international affairs-related careers.
“Because of support from The Whitworth Fund, students like me are able to immerse themselves not just in the academic environment at Whitworth, but also in learning from and with classmates from the U.S. and across the globe,” Ariella says. “I’m interested in one day becoming a foreign-service officer with the U.S. State Department. Whatever path I take, I know that I’ll have the competitive edge to be successful.”
