Since 2001, Whitworth has seen a 50 percent increase in science majors, who now number 600 students – a quarter of the student body. This growth has created an urgent need for space, which is being addressed with the construction of a 63,000-square-foot biology/chemistry building, to be named the William P. and Bonnie V. Robinson Science Hall; an addition to the Eric Johnston Science Center; and a research endowment. Completion of this vital initiative will meet Whitworth's science needs for the next 20 years, and will honor the Robinsons' legacy as champions of Whitworth's mission to provide its students an
exceptional
education of mind and heart.
