YouthWorship 2012
Overview
Join us at Whitworth University Sept. 28-29, 2012 for a workshop designed to train high school student musicians in worship leadership. Beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m. and concluding Saturday at 4:30 p.m., the workshop features instruction byWhitworth professors and student leaders, group discussions, and hands-on musical-skill development with student musicians from the Whitworth community.
The $70 charge* covers the workshop itself, a continental breakfast, snacks, lunch in the campus dining hall, and a workshop T-shirt. Students can register as individuals or with a team. Youth leaders may also attend: Notice the special breakout session for mentoring youth in worship. Lodging is not provided, but there are many nearby hotels if you're traveling from outside Spokane.
Local Accommodations
The goal of this workshop is not only to equip students with musical skills, but also to provide a theological and practical framework through which they can view every aspect of worship leading and planning -– from choosing appropriate music to leading congregational singing to working with a team. This gathering also creates a venue in which local churches can meet and support one another in their desire to provide meaningful leadership for worship. Don't miss this opportunity to help students develop as musicians and leaders while they connect with other students in the area!
Questions? Contact Associate Professor of Music Ben Brody (bbrody@whitworth.edu).
