“This Changes Everything: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of Mark” is our theme this semester. The focus of the Gospel of Mark is the person and work of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Mark includes very little of Jesus’ teaching; instead, we learn about Jesus from what he does. Throughout his ministry in Galilee (chapters 1-8a) and on his way to his death on the cross in Jerusalem (chapters 8b-16), people are consistently transformed when they encounter Jesus. All who meet him with an open heart emerge somehow different – healed physically, restored emotionally, reconnected communally, reoriented perspectively, redirected vocationally, or delivered spiritually. Join us in Chapel this semester as we students, staff, and faculty meet Jesus in the Gospel of Mark, and experience the ways he changes us and our world in the process.
