Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee


The Whitworth University Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is charged with oversight of the university’s animal programs and facilities in order to assure that care and use of vertebrate animals in research and the classroom is in compliance with campus and federal regulations. The IACUC serves as a resource to faculty, staff and students in planning and conducting animal use procedures with the highest scientific, humane and ethical principles. The committee is composed of the following members:

  • Alisha Epps, psychology
  • Joy Diaz, environmental safety supervisor
  • Dawn Keig, non-scientist
  • Dan Shay, community member
  • Lynn Noland, IACUC administrator, ex-officio member
