Direct Admission

Whitworth's direct admission program is an opportunity for new freshman and transfer students to be admitted directly from Whitworth's undergraduate, pre-athletic training program to the graduate, professional phase of the athletic training program.

Direct Admission Requirements

Direct admission is available for both high school students and transfer students who declare a pre-athletic training undergraduate major on their Whitworth application (typically a B.S. in Health Science, pre-athletic training).

Direct admission spots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Students who are not accepted through direct admission are still eligible for regular admission. If you already hold your bachelor's degree and are interested in the Master of Science in Athletic Training Program, please apply through graduate admissions.

To be considered for direct admission, you must meet the requirements outlined below.

High School Students (Incoming Freshmen)

  • Be admitted to Whitworth
  • Have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Declare pre-athletic training as your primary academic interest on your Whitworth University application.

Transfer Students

The priority application date is Nov. 30. All other applications must be received by March 1.
