Selection Process & Timeline

Selection process and timeline for students enrolling at Whitworth in fall 2024:

Jan. 15  Submit Whitworth admissions application by Jan. 15 Early Action II deadline. 
Jan. 31 Complete the Multicultural Leadership Program (MLP) application and submit FAFSA or WASFA to Whitworth.

Applicants from Spokane, Tacoma, Tri-Cities and the surrounding areas who qualify for the Washington State College Bound Scholarship will receive a link with instructions for completing this application.
Early March Multicultural Leadership Program (MLP) semifinalists chosen and notified.

Forty semifinalists will be invited to attend a combined Multicultural Leadership Program (MLP)/Mentorship Visit Program (MVP) event on campus to explore Whitworth and to complete the final stage of the MLP selection process. Semifinalists will be selected without College Bound eligibility verification due to FAFSA data delays.

March 16-18

MVP/MLP combined event.

Semifinalists will participate in on-campus events, which include an interview, group activities, a class visit, information sessions, an overnight stay in a residence hall and more.

Mid-April Finalists are selected and notified. College Bound eligibility is required to participate in MLP, so all applicants are encouraged to submit their FAFSA to Whitworth as soon as possible to expedite this process. 
June-August Participate in pre-college training and cohort building.
Late August  Participate in Whitworth's BUCS Bridge program.
Sept. 4  Fall classes start.
