Words can't describe the value Whitworth provided for me professionally and spiritually. They're the reason I had a job lined up before the end of my senior year.

Have Questions? We Have Answers.

Curious about what tuition clarity means for you and your family? Understand the details and see how this change can simplify the tuition and cost of not just your first year, but every year you attend Whitworth.

  1. To eliminate confusion about cost.

The traditional private college pricing model used nationwide is unclear for students and their families. The industry standard – increasing the list price and providing significant discounts traditionally labeled as scholarships – does not indicate the actual price families pay. We're clarifying our cost to empower students and their families to understand Whitworth's actual tuition price and make informed, confident decisions about their education and their future.

  2. To make a top-tier Whitworth education accessible for more students.

This clarified tuition supports Whitworth's ongoing commitment and efforts to provide a transformative Whitworth education to first-generation and underrepresented students. Research shows that 67 percent of families rule out colleges solely based on sticker price, which does not reflect actual cost. By clarifying our tuition price, we are removing this deterrent, ensuring students from all socioeconomic backgrounds will know Whitworth is accessible.

  3. Because it aligns with our mission and values.

This tuition clarification aligns with Whitworth's institutional values and reflects our commitment to Christ-centered service to students and their families. As one of the first private colleges or universities in the Pacific Northwest to clarify its tuition, Whitworth is a leader in providing much-needed transparency around college pricing.

The clarified tuition rate will apply to all new and returning undergraduate students in the traditional day program starting in fall 2026.

If you're starting at Whitworth in fall 2026, you'll begin under the 2026-27 tuition rate of $26,900. You will know up front the actual cost of a Whitworth education and the specific academic scholarship you qualify for and its amount.

If you're a current student, your tuition rate for the 2026-27 academic year will be $26,900, and your Whitworth academic scholarship and any institutional aid, like talent awards and support grants, will be adjusted to align with the simplified tuition. As a result, you and your family can expect to pay about the same as you would have paid without the tuition price adjustment.

Your tuition for the 2026-27 academic year will be $26,900 and your Whitworth academic scholarship and any institutional aid, like talent awards and support grants, will be adjusted to align with the clarified tuition. As a result, you and your family can expect to pay about the same as you would have paid without the tuition price adjustment.

Please note that factors unrelated to Whitworth's simplified price, such as changes in family size or household income submitted in your annual FAFSA, can increase what a student pays compared to the previous year.

This tuition adjustment will not significantly affect the out-of-pocket costs students and families pay. Current and incoming students can expect to pay about the same as they would have paid without the tuition price adjustment.

The purpose of this change is to eliminate confusion about cost by clarifying Whitworth's undergraduate tuition price to accurately reflect the actual net cost that students and their families pay.

This cost clarification does not apply to our adult education, graduate and doctoral degree programs because Whitworth already provides transparent, competitively priced tuition for these programs.

Not in the slightest. The significant value of a Whitworth education remains unchanged. Through intentional relationships, distinctive academic programs, faculty/student research collaboration, experiential learning, and the integration of faith and learning, Whitworth continues to provide an academically excellent and relevant education – one that prepares confident graduates for successful careers with purpose.

No; student services will not be reduced because of this tuition adjustment. Students will continue to receive all the benefits of a Whitworth education. That includes services that prepare students for academic, career and whole-person success and connect them with Whitworth's caring and supportive community.

Not at all; Whitworth places a high value on our students! That's why we are committed to eliminating inflated and confusing tuition sticker prices and inflated and confusing scholarships. We feel that one way to demonstrate how much we value students is by providing them with transparency and clarity in our tuition price and scholarship amounts.

No. The $26,900 tuition rate is for the 2026-27 academic year. Tuition for future years will be established before the start of the upcoming academic year. It is our intent that any increases in tuition would be due to increases in costs and inflation.
