Our pre-medical technology advising grads make a difference (and get jobs)

Potential Career Paths

Medical technologists primarily work in hospitals, clinics and pathology labs. They may specialize in histology (examination of tissue samples), hematology (examination of blood samples), or urinalysis (examination of urine samples).

After graduation, Whitworth students typically attend post-baccalaureate medical technologist training schools for one to two years to receive a medical technologist certificate before they are fully qualified for many clinical technologist positions. However, entry-level laboratory technician positions in pathology labs are also possible with a Whitworth undergraduate degree in a suitable laboratory science like chemistry or biology.
