Career Opportunities

Our goal is to prepare students for careers in government and politics, law, humanitarian work, teaching, research, peacemaking, and for employment in related fields such as business or missions. Political science students are trained to be proficient in quantitative and qualitative research and analysis, written communication (policy papers, legal positions, literature reviews, research papers), and oral communication (the ability to speak and listen, a skill essential for public discourse). No matter what their specific career, our graduates are prepared to exercise their skills as responsible citizens and as leaders in government, education, the community of faith, or the private-sector. Some departmental graduates go directly from college into entry-level positions while others pursue additional graduate work in fields such as political science, public administration, law, business, urban planning, or religion.
