Selection Process & Timeline

Selection process and timeline for students enrolling at Whitworth in fall 2026

Oct. 1 The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) become available.
Feb. 1 Complete the STEM Scholar application.
Mid-March STEM Scholar finalists chosen and notified. Each scholar has two weeks to accept the scholarship and decide that they are committed to Whitworth. Alternative scholars will be selected until cohort is filled.
May STEM Scholars complete welcome packet for program.
Late August STEM Scholars arrive on campus early. Scholars participate in individualized math and science primers. STEM Scholars participate with other first-year students in cohort building and college navigation bridge program.
Early September Fall classes start.
