Whitworth University Scholarships

Whitworth Military Service Scholarship
Amount: Varies by academic program

In support of our veterans and their families, Whitworth offers a Military Service Scholarship for veterans and their dependents whose tuition is not fully covered by VA benefits in combination with other Whitworth tuition-driven aid. To qualify, students must submit proof of military service with honorable discharge (preferably Form DD-214) to the financial aid office. Outside Scholarship & Grant Opportunities

National Guard Postsecondary Education Grant
Amount: Up to 100 percent tuition

Applicant must be a resident of Washington State and active drilling member in good standing of the Washington National Guard.

Ranger Memorial Foundation Scholarship Fund
Amount: $1,000

U.S. Army Rangers and their families are eligible for scholarships for higher education. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.

National Auxiliary Scholarship
Amount: Varies 

Candidate must be a child, grandchild or great-grandchild of a member in good standing, deceased or otherwise, of TREA. An essay is required for application.

Pro Vets Memorial Scholarships
Amount: Varies

Candidates with good academic records who are pursuing higher education may apply. Preference is given to veterans of a foreign war or the children of any veteran of a foreign war.

Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant
Amount: Varies

Students with a parent or guardian who served as a member of the U.S. armed forces and died as a result of military service performed in Iraq or Afghanistan after the events of 9/11 are eligible.

That Others May Live Scholarships
Amount: Varies

Scholarships are available to assist families of U.S. Air Force Rescue Heroes who were killed or severely wounded in training or operational missions.

National Military Family Association Scholarships
Amount: Varies

Spouses, children and other family members are eligible for scholarships through the National Military Family Association. Eligibility and award amounts are listed on the scholarship website.

Army Scholarship Foundation Scholarships
Amount: Varies

Available to dependents and spouses of U.S. Army service members.

Lint Center Scholarships
Amount: Varies

Scholarships are awarded to students pursuing a career in international affairs, national security or counterintelligence. Workers in these fields and their children are encouraged to apply.

MG James Ursano Scholarship Fund
Amount: Varies

Children of Army soldiers who are obtaining their undergraduate degree are eligible to apply. Scholarships are renewable.

Army Engineer Memorial Awards
Amount: $2,000

High school seniors whose parent, sponsor or legal guardian is a U.S. Army Engineer (active duty, retired or deceased), National Guard U.S. Army Engineer, Reserve U. S. Army Engineer, or current department of the Army employee of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), as well as a current member of the Army Engineer Spouses Club may apply.

Mary Rowena Cooper Scholarship
Amount: Varies

This scholarship provides financial assistance to children of veterans who served in Vietnam. This award seeks students pursuing degrees at vocational/technical programs as well as universities and colleges. Award amounts vary based on individual's financial need.

KASF Scholarship for Descendants of American Korean War Veterans
Amount: $500-$5,000

Scholarships are available to children who are direct descendants of a Korean War Veteran. Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Folds of Honor Foundation
Amount: Varies

Post-secondary educational scholarships are awarded to the spouses and children of U.S. service members disabled or killed as a result of their military service.

Paralyzed Veterans of America Scholarship
Amount: $1,000

Assistance for Paralyzed Veterans of America members and their immediate family members pursuing post-secondary education from accredited U.S. colleges and universities.

Army Aviation Association of America

Available to current members of the Army Aviation Association of America and family members of current AAAA members or of deceased members.

Army ROTC Scholarships
Amount: Varies 

Scholarships are awarded based on a student's merit and grades. Opportunities include two-, three-, and four-year scholarship options based on the time remaining to complete your degree; full-tuition; the option for room and board in place of tuition; and additional allowances for books and fees.

Army Women’s Foundation Scholarship
Amount: Varies 

Available to women soldiers, past and present, and their lineal descendants to help them attain their educational goals. The Legacy Scholarship Program offers financial support in four areas: certificate programs, community college coursework, undergraduate degrees and graduate degrees.

Coast Guard Exchange System Scholarship Program
Amount: $2,000 

Available to students who are dependents of Coast Guard active duty, reserve, and military retired members, current civilian NAF and APF employees, and current Coast Guard Auxiliarists.

Tillman Military Scholars Program

The Purple Heart Scholarship Program

A competitive scholarship program that awards scholarships to Purple Heart recipients and their spouses, children and grandchildren each year.

TonaLaw Veteran’s Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 awarded semi-annually for fall and spring semesters

Available to veterans of any branch of the armed forces of the United States.

Veterans of Foreign Wars
Amount: Up to $5,000
