Constructed in 1963, Stewart was named in honor of the Rev. Calvin W. Stewart, Whitworth president from 1890-98.
The "suite" design of Stewart Hall distinguishes it from other halls on campus, allowing a united and intentional living community among its residents.
Stewart Hall has one floor for 19 men and one floor for 19 women. Stewart's unique room design offers a suite configuration, with two single rooms joined together by one shared common room. In 2000, the renovation of Stewart provided the residents with new carpet and lounge furniture and indoor bicycle storage on campus.
